Why we built grancolombia.org and what we hope to achieve.
Gran Colombia is not just history. It's an idea—the idea that the peoples of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Panama share a common destiny. That unity, not fragmentation, is the path to true independence and prosperity.
This site exists to keep that idea alive. To educate people about what Gran Colombia was, why it mattered, and why it still matters today. To provide a resource for dreamers, historians, and anyone who believes that Latin America deserves better than two centuries of division and foreign interference.
We're not a political party. We're not advocating for any specific government or policy. We're not affiliated with any nation's government.
We're simply people who believe that Bolívar's dream deserves to be remembered, discussed, and—maybe, someday—realized in a new form fit for the 21st century.
This site is supported by affiliate partnerships with Amazon. When you purchase books, coffee, or other items through our links, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps cover hosting costs and allows us to continue building resources about Gran Colombia.
We only recommend products we genuinely believe are valuable—books that illuminate the history, coffee that supports Colombian farmers, and items that celebrate the culture of the region.
We strive for historical accuracy in everything we publish. The timeline, quotes, and facts presented on this site are drawn from reputable historical sources. Where we venture into speculation about what the future could hold, we clearly label it as such.
If you spot an error, please contact us. We take accuracy seriously.
